Amanda’s practice explores the fragility of life and the importance of preserving the family traditions brought by her late grandfather. She dissects and focuses on the animalistic elements of a forest animal usually spotted on hiking trails with her family: the deer, symbolizing gentleness and devotion. She incorporates these elements, along with nautical memorabilia, found within the design inspired by deer hide and antlers within each piece. Devotion is a shrine-like triptych designed to honor or devote itself to the lost or almost fading tradition.
