Fiyas’ (Richard Nina-Angeles) practice centers heavily on using photography to create visual images that capture serendipitous moments as experienced or conceptualized by the artist. Influenced by surrealism, classic analog photographers, and contemporary digital art, Fiyas incorporates his interests with subjects including capitalism, absurdity, intimacy, and the human condition. This latest work contrasts modern South Miami with its past appearance, showcasing the rapid growth and ongoing change as residents migrate to fill up every square inch of land available.
